Admissions
Grand Canyon University welcomes applications from all qualified students who are at least 16 years of age. Although the university seeks to integrate Christian faith and practice into all aspects of campus life, no statement of faith or religious affiliation is required of prospective students. Applications for admission are considered primarily in light of the applicant's academic qualifications. Any qualified student willing to uphold the university's vision and mission and open to the possibility of spiritual as well as intellectual development is encouraged to apply.
Undergraduate On campus Program:
To attend Grand Canyon University full time you must meet one of these requirements:

Undergraduate Online Program:
To attend GCU online you must submit your official high school transcripts and have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 2.75 or above.
Graduate and Doctoral Programs:

Undergraduate On campus Program:
To attend Grand Canyon University full time you must meet one of these requirements:
- In coming freshman are requires to submit an official high school cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 or above.
- If students can not meet the GPA requirement, they can still be admitted by meeting these scores on either college entrance exam:
- ACT- 19
- SAT- 920

Undergraduate Online Program:
To attend GCU online you must submit your official high school transcripts and have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 2.75 or above.
Graduate and Doctoral Programs:
- Graduate Degree- applicants may be accepted for admission by meeting one of the criteria specified below:
- Degree Bearing Transcripts
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited, GCU-approved college, university or program with aGPA of 2.8 or better on the degree-bearing transcript
OR - A graduate degree from an accredited, GCU-approved college, university or program
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited, GCU-approved college, university or program with aGPA of 2.8 or better on the degree-bearing transcript
- Test Scores - If students cannot meet the GPA requirement, they may still be eligible for admission by meeting certain graduate test scores:
- Graduate Management Admissions Test: 500
- Graduate Record Examination: 1,000 combined verbal/quantitative, prior to August 2011; 300 combined verbal/quantitative, after August 2011.
Doctorate Degree Admissions:
Applicants must meet one of these requirements:
- Degree Bearing Transcripts *
- Have earned a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution with an overall GPA of 3.4 or higher. Applicants with a GPA less than 3.4 will be accepted with specifications.
OR - Have earned a master's from a regionally accredited institution with an overall GPA of 3.4 or higher. Applicants with a GPA of 3.0 - 3.39 will be accepted with specifications. Applicants with a GPA below a 3.0 will not be accepted into the University.
- Have earned a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution with an overall GPA of 3.4 or higher. Applicants with a GPA less than 3.4 will be accepted with specifications.
- Submit a Letter of Intent between 250-400 words demonstrating your ability to prepare for a doctoral journey in a reflective and purposeful way.
